gary101050
HELP! MY KLIPSCH SW10 SUB JUST STARTED HUMMING. I HAVE HAD THIS SUB SINCE 1994 AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. WHEN I TURN IT ON IT NOW HAS A LOW HUMMING NOISE. I JUST HAD CABLE INTERNET INSTALLED IN THE HOUSE BUT I DON'T THINK THAT THIS WOULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM. THE INTERNET IS IN ANOTHER ROOM. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
justin_tx_16
NO CAPS LOCK PLEASE!!! Probably the internet connection actually. Causes a ground loop with the computer. Get a groud cheater plug, only like $0.12!
thechef
you are most probably correct. It is not your new item that is causing the problem. It is more probable that it is the interaction between your components. you could have added a cd, playstation, dvd... etc and still had the same problem. You could keep the new product and take out one of your old ones and it might quit. you most likely have a ground loop problem. you could get a little orange cheater (3 pin in/ 2 out) plug for your sub's power cord... or get a power center that isolates grounds (monster/panamax) and it also should stop the noise and protect your equipment as well.
