  1. I am looking for new home theater seating. Mrs. Santa said it was OK. I saw a Berkline 100 % leather 3 seater curved power reclining system with armrests and dividers between the recliners complete with lighted cup holders and storage areas in the dividers. It looks very comfortable. The grouping also has an optional butt-kicker seat rumbler that lets you feel the bass in the ***. ARRH, ARRH, ARRH (Tim Allen grunting noise). The only thing it lacks is a built in cooler for the beer and a connectin to the toilet. Right now we have comfortable leather couches with ottomans, but that gets somewhat uncomfortable after awhile.when you need to stretch out and get really comfortable.
  2. Hey all, I just saw yesterday that the original Star Wars Trilogy is out on DVD in a box set. This is different from the individual movies just released yesterday. I must have been living in cave because I did not know about this. I am asking for some informaiton and opinions about this set. The one I saw was in a gold cover. It was difficult to read the specs. through the wrapping. I know that there was a wide screen version and a full screen version available. I would like to know about the sound quality and the picture quality as well as the sound formats, such as Dolby Digital, DTS 5.1, 6.1, etc. Also any other opinions you may have Thanks for your help.
  3. I picked it up yesterday at Circuit City as part of a 2 for $28 and free Wall DVD. Buy the PULSE DVD and the PULSE CD set and receive The Wall DVD for free. A smoking deal. I watched the extras first. and started watching the concert. Friggin fabulous. Lots of extras. Videos and movies not all extras are in 5.1. I have the VHS, CD set and VCD from before, but who cares. Yes the aspect ratio is 4:3, still excellent.
  4. I have the ability to listen to internet radio at work. I am a big classic rock fan and I tune into www.radiofreecolorado.net . If you like this genre of music, check it out. They play superior music, a lot of live cuts and best of all no commercials. The station owner/manager comes on once per day to make his pitch for donations to keep the station up and running. They broadcast at two bitrates, 192 and 64. I use the 64 at work to keep the lines somewhat open. the sound is superior, no breaks or lost connection. The owner really takes pride in making our listening experience a real pleasure. I turn it on from my arrival and don't turn it off until I leave. I listen it to it at home while on my computer and it is a pleasure
  5. I think the right theater gives a better experience than HT. I was fortunate to view the Return of the King on a massive screen at the Harkins Cine' Capri in North Scottsdale, AZ this winter. This is the theater that was featured on the Klipsch web site about the same time the movie was released. I was blown away by the bigness of it and the top the the line Klipsch Movie thaater package that was part of this setup. With some movies you get a better effect on the big screen. At the conclusion, my wife and I said WOW! This is definately a movie to be experienced on the big screen.
  6. I have RB5's in my setup. I purchased some Sanus stands from Ultimate Electronics to place them on. They are all wood stands. They are sturdy and can hold the weight of my RB6's very nicely. Check out their webisite for photos. Good luck.
  7. As a die hard classic rocker, I sometimes listen to Jazz when it is time to mellow out. Spyra Gyra is one of my favorites. I also like to listen to the Rippingtons, FourPlay, David Sanbor, Boney James and others in this category. Check them out. You may want to try to get a feel for this type by downloading their music through KaZaa or something similiar on your computer first to see if you like it. You can burn it on a CD, if you have one, before you run out and purchase any CD's. Good Luck
  8. I too have the Yamaha/Klipsch Set-up as well. I enjoy the so called "brightness" that the Yamaha delivers. Maybe the nay sayers like more of a bassy sound instead.
  9. My favorite, by far, is Mannheim Steamroller's rendetion of Silent Night or Stille Nacht. The children are upstairs fast asleep. Imagine sitting in your favorite loveseat with your arm around your wife or significant other by the fireplace looking out the front window with the snow falling outside very late on Christmas Eve. Very quiet and peaceful. Listen to this song and at the end imagine Santa has just left the building. Very powerful, indeed.
  10. HELP! MY KLIPSCH SW10 SUB JUST STARTED HUMMING. I HAVE HAD THIS SUB SINCE 1994 AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. WHEN I TURN IT ON IT NOW HAS A LOW HUMMING NOISE. I JUST HAD CABLE INTERNET INSTALLED IN THE HOUSE BUT I DON'T THINK THAT THIS WOULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM. THE INTERNET IS IN ANOTHER ROOM. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
  11. I have the RB5's and an older SW10(1994 vintage)with my system. I have the RB's on 28" stands and that is the perfect height for listening while sitting in front of the HT system. The SW10 performs fine with this setup. The speakers are set to small. The subwoofer is turned up about halfway. My family and I watched the new Star Wars yesterday, and there were several places that the bass was so awesome I thought my seat had built in vibrators. Definately a rush.
  12. My CC speaker is bi-wired along with my mains. I figure, if they were meant to be bi-wired, then do it. It couldn't hurt. I think the sound is a litte richer when bi-wired.
  13. Where does one purchase newer or older laser discs? I have a Pioneer LD player with my HT system but no LD's. I have DVD's. I use the LD player to play my CD's. If you could let me know where to purchase LD's I would appriciate.
  14. Since you are a fan of the 70's & 80's, I have a good one for you. Elton John, Greatest Hits,Live. It is a DVD released in 2001. It is encoded with DD Surround, Dolby Digital 6.1 and DTS ES. It is approximately 150 minutes of his concert done in Madison Square Garden in October 2000. The sound is fantastic, the video crisp and clear. All of the hits are there. He has guest perfomers Billy Joel, Mary J. Blige, Anastasia, Roland Keating, Kiki Dee, and Bryan Adams doing perfomances with him. The show is very good. It sounds incredible thru your Klipsch speakers. I don't think you will be disappointed if you purchase this one. How does that sound for a commericial
  15. Pink Floyd Pulse-Live 2CD set done in 1994 in a London Concert. Although Roger Waters was gone, the music is still incredible. A full 2hrs &25 minutes of their best music including the complete Dark Side of the Moon. Also, just received a VHS of this show as well thru an ebay purchase. Did not know this video even exsisted. Watched it last night with my system. In friggin credible. Sat there in the chair mesmerized. Their trademark light show extravaganza was a sight to behold, indeed. My wife came in the room and asked why I was listening to that again. I said no I wasn't listening, I was watching. She proceeded to sit next to me and watched as well. She was impressed. Tough thing to occurr for a person who only likes newer top 40 and middle of the road. I also have the VCD coming to me as well. There is no DVD available as yet.
