mnelms
I just set up my first home theater system....confused to say the least. yamaha rxv1 with RB5 fronts, RC3 center, RSW 10, and niles in ceiling surrounds. My question is, how should i configure the setup on the receiver for the aformentioned speakers, and where should i set the crossover on the sub? I know...amateur. thanks
JohnA
Set the receiver's crossover to the sub about 20 Hz higher than the claimed low end of the RB-5s (50 + 20 = 70?), and each other speaker individually. Set the sub's controls to the highest frequency it will go to. I certainly HOPE your receiver can select frequencies.
dougdrake
I think you will want to set all the speakers to small in the configuration. Figure on the typical 80hz crossover being a good starting point, and set your sub's crossover as high as it will go, or bypass it altogether if there is a disable switch on the sub. This is assuming you have your sub connected to the receiver via the sub out jack.
