global_groove6
I currently have the 4.1's am happy with the sound except for the bass. It's just too weak for my tastes. Sub bottoms out way too easy even at moderate volumes. I don't think it's blown cause it only does it with certain tracks where the bass is much deeper. My question is there any way I can add another sub to the system without having to replace the entire set? Like upgrade to the 4.2 or something. Wish I just went with the 5.1's to begin with. I am running an Audigy2 Platinum if that makes any difference. thanks.

InnovaZero
Well unless your a real bass junkie, I don't think the sub is weak. This thing has the most powerful kick out of any 6.5 (x2) setup i've heard, and it hits as low as 29hz before a real steep roll off. It's not the sub thats the problem, it's Audigy 2. Creative went for all out quality this time, however they made one flaw. The card only has a freq. response of 40hz - 15khz (+/- 3db) so the sub is not going as low as it is able to. Grimmi
"The card only has a freq. response of 40hz - 15khz (+/- 3db)" Not sure where u found that info...but that's false, creative cards have their problems, but that's not one of them. justin_tx_16
ditto grimmi. the creative cards, at least the live series and better, have at least 20-20Khz.
InnovaZero
Yes excuse me, I was reading something else. Excuse me lol, they (Audigy 2) have freq. response of 10hz-46khz.

ronnyd@charter.net
I have the same problem with my 4.1 It seems like the woofers are blown. I have a C-Media sound card. Can this be the problem?? I love the 4.1 beside the woofer rattling.
ronnyd@charter.net
I fixed the bottoming out bass. I thought the bass was on the soft side. I built a box and put a 8" woofer. I ran the wires from the klipsch subwoofer to the 8" woofer and now it is all the bass I need. I hope this will help you. You can buy the new sub that is coming out to add on but I think you would be wery satified with adding the 8" or 10" woofer. Get a woofer that is eff. it only takes 100 to 250 watts. Good luck
