mopar dave
hi al, i'm trying to get some info on a B network with k77m,k57,k33e in a cornwall. will this combo have the intended or the original cornwall sound. you answered a simular question awhile back about capatiblity of the k57,k79 with B network, and you said the k57 was capatible with the B, but the k79 was not. i just finished building a pair of cornwalls to PWK specs. from scatch. to me they sound very mid rangie. the vocals are a little squakie. is this normal? i have never listened to cornwalls before now, and i'm not familiar with there sound. maybe i need more listing time with them to get used to them. the highs are good and the bass is excellent, very full bodied. for caps in the network i used solen 4 and 2uf. do the caps need run time to be burned in? currently i have them wired to my fathers harmon kardon high current intigrated and using a denon changer. when i get them home i will be wireing them to my yamaha v2092 natural sound, maybe this will soften them a little. any advise on mods to make these right will be greatly appreciated. i do have a pair of k55m's, but no way to mount them. last question that no one seems to know is are the k57's brighter than the k55m's, if so than this is my problem. thank you very much dave
Al Klappenberger
Dave, The B network was originally sold with the K55 squawker and k77 tweeter. I think the K57 will do ok with the B too, so I think do have done it right. The K79 tweeter has lower efficiency and would not work propery with the B. Al K.
