rupert
Hello all, I have been lurking on the Forum for a few days and have a question about the AL crossover. I have a pair made in 1986 - what model speakers would they suit? I know they came from a pair of La Scala; would they also be usable in the K-Horn? Also, what specific drivers was the AL designed to work with? TYA
JohnA
The Type Al network began in 1982 for the La Scala only. There are similar versions for the Belle and K-horn, Type AB and AK. It was used with the K-33-E/K-55-M/K-77-M drivers. It will work with any model of La Scala with those drivers and presumeably a K-horn as well. Though not intended, it should work with a K-55-V squawker too. It is a miserable sounding network. It is excessively complex and the sound is muddy as a result. It should be thrown away. If used in an emergency, it should be replaced as soon as possible.
