Soundthought
Hi there. I like B&K. I've been running a B&K 2140 2 channel on my RF7s. It offers a much smoother sound than the Denon they were hooked up to.IMO I had been running the RF7s off the Denon for about a year. Never was able to get used to or adequately dampen the Forwardness(for lack of a brighter word). I run a 7.1+2 Reference HT in a 16'x11'x7' living room. So unstead of major reconsrtuction, I decided to sample various outboard amps. The B&K offered me a depth and smoothness that I was searching for. Your own ears must ultimately make the final decision. Explore and Enjoy John.
manufanatic
Your own ears must ultimately make the final decision. Agree with that assessment the only problem is getting a B&K amp here in my house to hear the difference. I did note on their website that a dealer is within 15 minutes of my locale which is almost unheard of where Im located. Thanks for the input it looks like i will have to decide sometime between the pioneer elite 49 tx the B&K 307 or some other setup.
blackhawk519
Talked with B&K Tech Support this morning. Confirmed that there will be an upgrade for the B&K AVR307 available in about 3 weeks (Feb 03)and the unit will have to be sent back to them. Also found from some other users on another Forum: " However, I was told the upgrade should address Dolby ProLogic II, DTS ES (6.1 Discrete) and DTS NEO:6. He also said that a new DAC would provide 192kHz/24bit processing. He was not able to comment on THX Ultra2. and that the upgrade would cost approx 650.00.
