Tutor Turtle
Vintage Racon Electric Company 32 ohm, 12", 2-way coaxial Theater Speaker, 1940's, cast aluminum frame, Anlico magnet. Hemp paper cone. This was likely made by Western Electric (Altec) in the early 40's for a movie theater application. It has a carrying handle, it weighs 26 pounds. The surround was restored professionally by New England Speaker. They don't make the exact size surround this speaker needed, so the NES staff cut down a slightly larger surround. It does not effect the sound quality. They thoroughly tested it with a 20 watt class A-B tube amp and it sounds beautiful. This is perfect for low wattage tube amps, A class "A" amplifier would be a perfect match for this driver. $150 + shipping from 03870 takes it home.
