Nighthawk
Hey all.. Simple question: What is the cheapest price I can get the RP-5's for and where can I get them for that? Thanks! ------------------ Tim "Nighthawk" Admire
thdrought
I have been using http://store.yahoo.com/gigabuyz Great prices. Almost 1/2 off retail. Better than any local shop I've seen so far.
dougdrake
Be aware of warranty coverage from any place you buy from. The Internet is loaded with gray-market sellers, who buy their inventory from authorized dealers who are in distress or whatever. There is a list of authorized dealers in the navigation bar to the left on the Klipsch site. Call Klipsch to ask if you're not sure. Then, buyer beware. If you buy from a non-authorized dealer, just be comfortable with the fact that you may be paying for your own repairs. Not necessarily a bad thing, just be aware. Nighthawk
thdrought: Unfortunetly, the site you gave me doesn't appear to carry the RP-5's or even the -3's. ------------------ Tim "Nighthawk" Admire
boa12
there's a post by talktokeith below in this section on this very RP-5 @999.99. for the meager price dif, the 5 are a much better value than the rp-3 imho (i had both). u may also want to consider the rf-3 & a good sub to be had for less than the rp-5 (that is at msrp anyway). ------------------ Klipsch KLF-30 (front), KLF-C7, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Monsterbass 400 sub interconnect & Monster S-12 cable Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Sony DVP-C650D cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Technics dual cassette deck Technics direct drive turntable Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box 2nd room: Klipsch RF-3 (front), RC-3, cheap little Technics (rear) Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage '75) Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd player Sega Genesis game player Sub: None yet rock on! Nighthawk
Great! Thanks... found that post. I see you are now using the KLF-30's and not the RP-3/5's... which do you like more and why? Also, which would you recommend I use with the Yamaha RXV-596 receiver? ------------------ Tim "Nighthawk" Admire
boa12
nhawk, once I found the space, I liked the rf-3 & vel sub much better than the rp-5 or 3. then when I found more space again I liked the klf-30 best of all for that rock n' roll slam (disclaimer: klipsch legend towers are not magnetically shielded ) & that's even with my sony receiver which I believe is lower current than your yammy. suggest u audition the speakers with your unit in your home. or maybe audition another amp. see if your local klipsch dealer will work w/ u to get what u like best.
