I guess I'll go ahead and leave them as they are, considering that if I turn the volume up to a moderate listening level instead of leaving it low, the room is filled with music anyway, so maybe it was a bad idea to start, but I figured I'd see what you gents had to say. Hi All! The specs of the setup I have in my room are in my sig. First off, this system is not used for watching many movies, and usually when I do they are just playing on my computer when I'm working and having perfect sound imaging is not important as long as I can hear it. We have a really nice Klipsch home theater setup as a theater in another room which is used for movies. This room is mainly used for music (2-channel audio). What I would like to do would be to fill the room with stereo sound from the fronts using NO EFFECTS on the receiver and match that clear sound with the rears in the back without using any effects from the DSP. The only way I see to do this would be to hookup the fronts and rears to the FRONT connections on the back of my receiver. Is this advisable? What are everyone's thoughts on this and are there any alternatives to this to get sound, basically as it is played in a car with four speakers where the fronts match the rear sound? Thank you! Cruzer: Home theater? 5.1? I personally only listen to music at this time so I really only use two speakers, but since the set of speakers that I wanted to match is discontinued, I wanted to get them all before they were completely gone. Plus, I know someday I will want to watch/listen to movies in 5.1 or better. It's up to you, obviously, but 2-channel just sounds so real to me now, unlike anything else. They all sound very "echoed" and run together as compared to 2-channel. That "Question for Nighthawk" scared me, LOL. Yep, I've got the 1.1's and they work great as rears. They look pretty good on the walls as a matter of fact. I have them positioned with the bottom of the speaker at about 6 feet from the floor and they work great. You might also look into the SS-1's (I think) as a true rear surround speaker match for the 3.1's, but the 1.1's do an excellent job and they look great as well. Oh yeah! 2-channel stereo is by far the best sounding music ever. Yes, I have joined the "2-Channel Club" and after being enlightend by all of the great people on this board, I can safely say that I will NEVER turn back to ProLogic or any DSP modes... they sound so... fake! Hi there... I am concidering a few options at the moment for spreading apart my two mains, which are currently just over 1ft apart and provide little to no stereo effect in music. I have one question though... Due to room and money conciderations, I would like to place my KSB 3.1 main on top of my 8" Yamaha subwoofer (it'll be Klipsch sooner or later though) Will that work OK with the bass of the main going through the sub? Also, another thing... I was trying to come up with a neat way for a second speaker stand for my other main without spending about 100 bucks for it. Any ideas? I thought a small stool that matched the furniture in this room might look nice, but I'm not sure if it would like too... tacky...? Ideas and opinions are welcome! Hi there... I have a Yamaha receiver and my primary listening source is 2 channel, stereo; CD's. I have been listening to the different DSP modes and I'm still not sure what I like best, though I think I have narrowed it down to about two and I was wondering what everyone else uses mostly and for what types of music. The two I have narrowed it down to are ProLogic Enhanced or Disco. The Disco setting is a setup with the mains mirrored in the rear and the center channel not used. I would like to know what everyone else uses, what types of music they use the modes with, and why they like them. Also, you say "The front left channel signals are output to the surround and surround back signal left channels." In a 5-channel system, would that mean that the same signal that goes to the front left also goes to the left surround speaker? And is this with no delay as there is in DPL? I was actually just contacted by someone from this board who has some KSB 3.1's and 1.1's for the main and rears for sale (boxed and factory sealed) which he has a good deal on, so it looks like I will be getting Klipsch afterall! Hi there... I took a look at those speakers.. they are nice, but I'm not really into buying used Though, it looks like this summer I may be able to get some older Infinity speakers from my dad for fronts that have 5.5" woofers in 'em (these were from before Infinity was bought out by a company and now they have lesser products?). So, my question now is, what should I match those with for rears and a center? My price range is still the same.. about $200-300 for the rears and about $150-200 for a center. Hi all.. I know all of you are Klipsch fans, and so am I, but as of now I cannot afford their great line of products. So, my question is, do any of you have recommendations on nice bookshelf speakers for mains that cost less than $200 for a pair? They will be used mainly for music and maybe once in a while home theater. They will also be used for mains, probably on stands eventually. Also, whatever I go with, I would like it to have nice matching rear surrounds for the same price and maybe even a center channel. Thank you very much for any input you may have!
