I have a Panasonic rp82 which is highly rated, for comparisons. Out of the box the 47ai is a little softer but is highly user configurable with three custom modes. The 47ai reads and seeks far quicker than the rp82, and the layer change is much better. I won't be using the Panasonic anymore. One of the major whines of the 47ai is the Chroma bug error.I have not looked for artifacts or blockiness,etc.....I also informed my wife that if she saw me crawling on the floor in front of my RPTV with the DVD in pause mode, looking for said artifacts or anomallies, to wind up and kick me in the *** as hard as she could for being an idiot!
