Jimbo357
Scott- My Anthem has 200wpc, and the 7s get so loud that the amp isn't even stressed. I currently live in an apt., and I have yet to see the woofs move!

Night and day upgrade??? I am considering going to the 7's now and was wondering if the extra thousands I am going to pump into this is worth it? ---------------- I did upgrade all my '3IIs to 7s myself last spring (and with last nights addition of a pair of RF-5s to also use as surrounds). Yes, that practically doubled the total outlay that I already put into this thing. I was skeptical if it was really worth it at first, until I put those RF-7s up next to the RF-3s. Those damn things were almost twice as big as the '3s (and nearly weight twice as much)! Then I went and listened to them, switching between the 3's and 7's (using the dual-zone feature of my reciever and switching between the two "zones"). After spending a whole week doing this and listening to all kinds of music and watching different movies, I finally gave in to the temptation and kept the '7s! Now, that was me. If you can, and I would highly suggest it, try to find a pair of RF-7s (unfortunatly, at the Tweeters, they are getting scarce), and listen to them. I think you'll be amazed at the improvment of sound, especially if you take your time (not just a minute or two). In the long run, it is your ears and your wallet that has to decide. If you think you can afford it and you desire to do so, than by all means upgrade - in the long run, you'll be the much happier. If you are happy with what you got (and/or just simply cannot come up with the funds), than why change a good thing?
elgrillo
Damn ears is Ripped. Moving the 7's is a major pain in the ***. I got my computer chair and placed the RF7 boxes from my trunk on to the chair and rolled them in. The funny thing is, and I am not sure why, I imagined the EARS in a wheel chair. I don't mean this in any demeaning type of way, just kind of like a professor Xavier in Xmen. One of those smart kinda looney guy who has this obsession about subwoofers. I was able just to pick mine up and carry them in the house myself. I was worried that I was going to trip on something and drop them during the process (like going up the front steps to the door). It also did not help that we were in the midst of an early season heat spell (the temps hit around 90 that day). That REL is also friggan heavy for s subwoofer - that thing weights around 70 pounds.
