schlosman
I recently aquired a pair of these and I think I'm going to really enjoy them, but unfortunatly I'm getting nothing but static from one of the tweeters. After verifing that it's not an amplifier problem, I ordered a new tweeter from Klipsch but that hasn't fixed it either. I can't find loose connections, so I'm thinking it must be a crossover problem. I can take the speaker in to a repair shop and hope they could fix it, or I could just order a new factory crossover from Klipsch for about $80 and put it on myself. Has anybody had a similar problem, or have advice to offer. Thanks... John
ricktate
Before you buy new stuff,,,touch all the soldered connections with a soldering iron.....this has been a fix before on someones i think....maybe replace the wire going to tweeter to,,,,try different stuff first...maybe a simple fix.....rick
schlosman
Thanks Rick. I don't have a soldering iron, but I'll look over the wires a little closer before ordering anything else. JOhn
heresy2guy
That's good advice, especially if it's an older speaker. The older Heresys had the screws on the back of the cabinet and you could easily remove the whole board and peer inside. Look for HDBRbuilder, a poster here on the board, and ask him specifically. He use to work at Klipsch making Heresys in the late 70s, I think. He could probably help you out much better then I can. Take care.
