paulc Posted April 28, 2001 Share Posted April 28, 2001 Since DVD is still at 480i, has anyone heard anything about development of a HDTV (1080i) DVD ? One thing that might be a problem is the disk would have to hold more than twice the information. I think a HDTV DVD would be awesome but my guess is that the electronic component companies will want to get all they can out of the investment into regular DVD before going to HDTV DVD. Paul C. I doubt you will see anything above 480i until the Motion Picture Academy has a good handle on copy protection. Even if the standard was developed, no movies would be available until then.
