kevin26187 Posted May 3, 2001 Share Posted May 3, 2001 bought the 4.1's two days ago and they sounded awesome the first two days and went to work on the third day came home put on some tunes around one quarter the way up and sub around half and suddenly noticed a crackling and hiss out of the sub and horn tweeters ...... sounded terrible checked everything when discovering the sub was very hot to the touch and the sound was sick ....i put my lab tech back on and they sounded better then the 4.1's..... was very up on these speakers until nowand am very disappointed in them ...when they work it was excellant highs and thump and now they suck...... tryed all things , running sb live x-gamer and know about all the settings and technics for good sound .... must have been a bum pair . if anyone has had any same results what did you do ...mine went back so it will be three weeks before i see them again boo hoo... bajachepe Posted May 4, 2001 Share Posted May 4, 2001 Same thing happened to me,I reyurned the set and got a perfect working replacement. I am still a bit paranoid about the temp on the sub but, it doesnt get anywhere near as hot as my first set did.
