Anyone know anytihing about ESS AMT-1B speakers???

Recommended Posts

I picked up a pair of these ugly children at a garage sale for $10. Pretty bad shape, but they do have planar tweeters that both work. I took em apart, crossovers appear fine, woofers are shot. Apparently they were made in 1977. Anyone have any info about these for me???

The tweeters might be worth some $$$$$$. There are some similiar ones on ebay for around 2 or 3 hundred. thanks. 16.gif13.gif10.gif11.gif9.gif6.gif6.gif3.gif1.gif2.gif3.gif3.gif

I had a pair that I bought new back in...uh, well let's just say late seventies and leave it at that. The "Heil Air Motion Transformer" - How cool is that moniker? Twelve inch woofer and 12" passive radiator, crossover at 800 or 1000 hz. I used them for seven or eight years, during which time I blew one woofer, and melted two tweeter diaphrams (sp?). Really nice sounding speakers, but could not handle the abuse I heaped on them in my party days. My next speakers were Cornwalls - now we're talkin'!
