tpg Posted July 8, 2003 Share Posted July 8, 2003 Hi... I am still in search of a good tube amp circuit and don't know what to use. I just don't like any- perhaps because they are not my designs. All the headphone amps I currently have are done my way- not someone else's. I just don't like using other people's designs and PCBs. On the other hand, I know next to nothing about tubes. I mean I can tell you stuff about a circuit (topology, etc.) but I cannot design/bias one, and all that stuff. So, on that note, do any of you know of a good looking tube amp using 6GM8/ECC86 or any other low voltage tube? I mean low voltage... less than 30V for sure. Nothing like 60V on a 6DJ8. I cannot afford the transformers. As of tomorrow, I should have 2 NOS 6GM8s on the way to my house. This will give me somewhere to play, if only I knew a good circuit to reference to.
