OuTpaTienT Posted May 11, 2001 Share Posted May 11, 2001 The sub-woofer in the 4.1 system has two drivers facing opposite directions...right? I'm just curious if anyone has tried reversing the polarity on one of the drivers so they would work together instead of fighting against each other. Or would doing that totally defeat the purpose of a ported enclosure? I'm also curious if anyone has designed a better, or at least an alternate enclosure to house the subwoofers. Im guessing the people who made the speakers are experts and knew what they were doing. I wouldn't think that having the 2 face each other would improve sound, but would actually make it worse seeming the waves would cancle out. But maybe they combine or somethign to work good.
