Quenten
Also, if your Denon is like my Yammy, in the receivers set up menu select "auto." In this mode the receiver sences the signal being sent and automatically changes to that mode (DD, DTS etc).
dougdrake
How do you have the DVD player connected to the Denon, via a single digital cable (coax or fiber) or via the analog outputs of the DVD player? If you have the digital connection in place, be sure you have selected "Auto" for the digital input selection on the Denon (I may not be using the correct terminology). Otherwise, it will stay on whatever decoding scheme you have selected on the Denon instead of automatically switching to Dolby Digital or DTS. Also, be sure you have selected Dolby Digital or DTS on the menu for the particular DVD you are playing, usually under Audio setup (some DVDs default to the Dolby Pro soundtrack rather than DD). Get back to us if none of these suggestions work. Good luck! Doug
