stud21
Can you use the RF-5 or the rf-35 as your rear speakers in your home theater system? Would this be a good idea or should I just buy the surround speakers instead?
arthurs
what are you using as mains? I'm using the RB-5II bookshelves as surrounds and they're great!
stud21
I am using the RF-7's as the mains.
arthurs
If you're going to go for 5's as surrounds, might as well go for 7's and match your fronts. That said, I've been using the 5II's with my 7's and they're fine.
RickB
In our family room setup with RF-7s for mains, I use RF-5s for surrounds and RB-5IIs for rear surrounds. Sounds great to me.

If you have the room and the cash, go for it. Of course, as has been mentioned, if you can afford and fit a second pair of RF-7s, all the more better. In my particular case, I managed to score a pair of RF-5s on clearance for a pretty decent price of $900, plus they fit much more easily in my room than the RF-7s did (and I was offered a pair for about $1350). marksdad
full range floor standers are the only way to go, this way you get the full impact of all the great explosions, plane fly by's, i have had sats, and full range floor standers for sats, the difference is dramatic, i used rf 5's and rf 3's in a really dynamic combination, your plan of 5's and 7's would be soooo much better
