thebullet
I have the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 system on my computer. It gives good quality sound, but one night my foot rubbed the back of the sub/amp. My foot was almost burned! How hot should these units run? Is it safe to leave them on for long periods of time? I'm thinking of fashioning a heatsink to mount on the back. TheEAR
Its room tempereature is below 25 Celcius its not normal for the amp plate to be boiling hot. You muct have a defective unit I had a PM 2.1 and it ran HOT,returned the set in a hurry. BASH type amps like the one used in the PM 4.1 and 5.1 run cool, they should never run as hot as Class A amps. Maybe BASH Inc tries to emulate the PassAleph glorious heat? LOL Seriously get the amp fixed or replaced
marksdad
could be a sign of some potential prob, replace it
thebullet
I've seen different brands - like Boston Acoustics. they put fins on the back. Anyway, are you sure they are supposed to run cool-mine's working fine, it's just hot!
