Jackmon
I own a pair of Chorus IIs and have them sitting on mid-length pile carpet over a concrete slab foundation. I would like to support these by sitting them on suspension cones (spikes) to directly contact the concrete slab. My questions: What is the best configuration for cones on each Chorus II speaker (how many and where placed)? Is it necessary to drill holes in the speaker cabinet and sink threaded inserts? Is brass the best cone material?
jeffgeorge
On the bottom base of the speakers there should be metal feet. I would suggest removing those feet and putting threaded spikes there (might have to do a little drilling). I think that spikes made out of a good grade steel, or stailess steel will probably work fine. ------------------ RF-3's : mains RC-3 : center RS-3's : surrounds KSW-12: subwoofer Receiver: Denon 2801 DVD: Panasonic DVD-A120 CD: Yamaha CDC-765 Cables: Tributaries Sat Receiver: Hughes Direct-TV DD5.
