I was looking at one of the post here which linked to the www.Dolby.com , and they recommend that the surrounds face each other and are about 2'to 3' above the listeners' ear. I have end table at each end of the couch in the living room. That was was just gonna sit them on and face them forward. I measured the listening level and its 3' for me, I cant mount them on the wall cause of the thermostat on the left side of the couch is 5'. My second question is will they be ok if I just go ahead and let them sit on the end tables, facing forward or on the cornor of the end table agling at the listening positon, or will I be defeating there purpose?
