Nice and simple , what did you use to make the graph, and btw I think there off by one increment. The dip should be at 36 HZ on the normal postion line. Nice job though. Now My question, being a newb that I am, what does this info tell me? That it would be ok to use the hole for a sub? Thanks

Ok I redid the test, and with the volume on my VSX-43TX @ -20. And the Subs volume @ 1 click past 12:00. I figured it would be easier for you to put the values in your self since I dont have anyway to host the file for you to redownload. I tested up to 89 Hz, didnt do 100 cause I forgot it when I burned the cd. With the Spl meter at C weighting slow response and with sub in normal position(on side wall midways between cubby hole and listening position)and SPL meter siting on couch, pointed at cubby hole(or straight ahead). 10Hz = --- 12.5Hz = --- 15Hz = 59 17.5Hz = 64 20Hz = 79 22Hz = 89 25Hz = 91 28Hz = 93 32Hz = 95 36Hz = 84 40Hz = 93 45Hz = 96 50Hz = 92 56Hz = 97 63Hz = 100 71Hz = 95 80Hz = 90 89Hz = 93 With the Sub rearrange so that it is where the couch is, and measuring from on top of my center channel in the cubby whole. 10Hz = --- 12.5Hz = --- 15Hz = 60 17.5Hz = 71 20Hz = 81 22Hz = 85 25Hz = 95 28Hz = 100 32Hz = 103 36Hz = 99 40Hz = 98 45Hz = 101 50Hz = 101 56Hz = 104 63Hz = 85 71Hz = 96 80Hz = 103 89Hz = 103 During this test at 63 hz you can see a big dip, While I was measuring these, I left the cd player on repeat, and just walked back and forth measuring and writing, and switching tracks. During the test all of the notes except 63 was quiter while I was in the middle of the room, but 63 hz was louder in the middle of the room and quieter close to the couch and close to the cubby whole. I thought that was weird how that one tone acted different. The levels were overall higher with the sub rearranged, so I guessing that would be a allright spot to place a sub? THanks

What I was saying is if you put the sub where you normally sit and place the meter where the sub is going to go, the graph you get will be close to what it would be if the two were flip flopped around. I done the test, The first one was with the sub sitting where the couch was( I moved the couch out of the living room and Placed the sub there.), I noticed the reading were lower on alot of the lower freq, but Stupid me didnt think anything of it . So then I moved the furniture back into the living room. And Did the second test where Everything is normal. Well As I was setting the sub back into its home, I notice the volume knob was about 10:00 psoition, when I normally keep it 1 click passed 12:00. That was when It all clicked together . So now im just listening to some music to sooth the angry feeling. So basically my first test, which required all the moving of furniture, is void . I was hoping it would boost the bass some, but wont the measurements be diffrent since the the bass would be coming from inside a cubby hole vs from a flat wall? When I get home I will see what I can come up with, the wife wont be home till later.

I have all but a test cd, but I do have a burner, just not any test tones.

I could probably place my sub in front of the tv an try that, but there no way I could place it as high as I want the new subs by my self. I dont even think I have a table around that I could try setting it on. Does elevation hurt it, if not then maybe I could take the Tv out of thehole and place my sub in there and try that? Thanks

My TV sits in a recessed area in the wall, from the back of the center speaker is 15" to the wall, about 40" to the top of the area. The hole is 64" wide. I was thinking of maybe building a sub to place back in there since I dont have any room for another that is suitable, My RSW-15 is already beside a open wall. Would the cubby hole hurt any sub in there or how would it react. Why do you prefer the PB2-plus vs the dual 20-39's. I have never heard a svs or too many other home subs so I have no clue about there output. And one other thing does it hurt for a sub to be raised off the ground about a 1' or 2' especially one of the cylinder subs? Thanks

We'll what I mean is like when I crank up the HT watching LOTR Twin Towers during the opening scene(Gandolf and the demon), Say I cranked it as fars as possible without bashing my RSW-15. Would the 2 SVS be at the same point of fixen to distort, or would they be able to keep going? Thanks

I currently have a RSW-15 in a room about 23' wide by 17' long. From what I read I have my sub in the worst place ever, its right beside a opening in the wall going to the kitchen. So im wondering about maybe a couple or single SVS 20-39 CS . My question is how do you run these along with the RSW-15. I'm new to this but it seems like you could reach the limits of one setup while the other still has room to push. Like one could start distorting and the others still want more power. How do you run these so you can get the most out of both? Hope someone can decypher what I'm trying to say. Thanks

I dont have a problem with ordering online, the way I look at is Klipsch is a very solid product, and has been tested and put through all th trials. I wouldnt condider them if I thought they was gonna break down within a year. I orderd all of my audio from Hooked on tronics, and would gladly do it again. They left me messages on my recorder on the products that they didnt have in stock and offered me a better deal on items to replace them, for Instance The didnt have the RF-35's I wanted but they did have RF-5's and gave them to me for a less price that what my authorised dealer was gonna give me for the 35's. All of my speakers came with all the serial numbers and unopened boxes. I read somewhere that unless they specify open box or refurbished, then it is unopened and untouched item. Im not trying to sell anyone on them, Im just saying I had a very good experience and was able to purchase a nice HDTV with some of the money I saved. Good Luck with whatever you choose.

Well I finally got it all set up last night, but it was too late to do anything. I woke up at around 5:30, and had to keep debating if it was time for the neighbors to wake up or not. I just now finally cranked it up, all I can say is YIKES , that is some dangerous SPL levels. Made the hair on my arms stand up and get cold chills. And at the highest level that I wanted to go witch was +2db on my reciever, I couldnt bear any more, it was hurting my head. But the best part about it all was, there was ZERO distortion, and I mean none, it was so clear it was just crasy, and the sub very impresive. The olny problem now is I'm gonna go broke going out and buying new DVD's to watch. I would like to say thanks to everybody here who has helped me out with info and opinions, its always greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys

Ok just got my RSW 15 and with that crappy manual, and a me being a total newb when it comes to Home Theater, I'am not sure what to do. I have a subout on the reciever, and the RSW 15 has 2 RCA connections for input, do I need a y-conector and plug into both of the inputs( left and right), or do I just plug into 1 input(Right or Left)? And any sugestions for cables, I was considering the Monser Bass 300 The length its gonna need to be is about 24'. Thanks Brandon

My VSX 43 TX came in, so I went ahead and hooked up the old AIWA speakers that I had( pretty small speakers, not powerfull at all). The volume is measured in db from -80db to +12 db. It seem after I have set these speaker up according to the manual, that I have to tur the volume level to -20db for a normal listening level for like movies,(not cranking just solid listening). Is this because the speakers are crap or should it get loud way before that, -80db to -20db is a pretty big jump. Thanks

This may seem like a real newbie question and prolly is, but im guessing that if I use the coaxial out or optical out, on like my dvd player, this will eliminate the need for all the extra RCA cables, that I currently have plugged in for the 5.1? And if it does do so, does it replace the sub out too, or do I still have to run a sub cable to the receiver too? Thanks

Well the RSW 15, and RS 35's shipped today, and there shipping the RF-5's and the RC 3II Monday, since I waited still this evening to tell them go ahead and sub the RF 5's and the RC 3II. I feel I got a pretty good deal on the 5's I only had to pay $916 for the pair. But I wasnt sure if I made a good decision on the RC 3II vs the RC 35 (I couldnt find any other place that had the RC 35 in stock for a resonable price). I hope it sounds ok with the RS-35's, I guess I will find out by next Friday, if I can wait that long. Thanks
