Beesley
I've done a lot of online research on the 950/7100 and VSX-47TX. Many people say seperates are the way to go but that the 47TX is one of the best recievers made by Pioneer to date. Havent heard anything beyond the 45TX, but how do you think the 47TX would compare? I mean could Pioneer's more powerful on board amplifiers shake a stick against seperate amps? HT, 2channel/Multi channel audio.
Beesley
EAR(s) On 9/17/2002 you wrote "If I had one receiver to select I would get the Pioneer 49TX!" I know that was almost year ago and technology has changed but how do you think the 47/49 would fare in regards to Seperates (950/7100)? Bruinsrme
The Pioneer 53 and 55 seem to be getting great reviews from the buyers. The price point near $1500 seems like a great deal to me. The 49txi will be replaced with the 59txi this winter. Currently the 49txi can be had for as low as $2600 shipping included (unauthorized dealer) or around $2800 authorized dealer. There has not been any hints at what the 59txi will run. Buyer beware there are very complicated receivers but once you learn how to work the features you will be in for a treat. soundog
Like other Outlaw products the 950/7100 combo is receiving rave reviews and the combo is available direct from outlawaudio.com for about $1600. I have it and it is remarkable in it's clarity and stability. Top quality inerts provide top quality sound in a "plane jane - black box" wrapper that's hard to beat at twice the price. And Outlaw is famous for their customer service. But if you want to impress your friends with how your equiptment looks rather than how it sounds, this would not be a good choice. Beesley
Thanks, didn't know that something was already in the works to replace the 49. I thought it was going to be more along the lines of what Klipsch did with the RF-35s but keeping the RF-5 and RF-7. I'm concerned more with performance than with looks. I figure when the lights are off/dimmed it wont make much of a difference anyway. But since I've never heard a 47/49 I was just curious to know how much better the sound is than the 45TX. I'm almost set on eventually ordering a 950/7100 combo but theres just so much out there. I'm even considering the possibilities of finding a used parasound 1206 or even 855. Geez, the beuty of competition in the US. Sometimes I think...How would it be if our country was Socialist "Krell is the only home audio equipment available, anyone who says differently will be banished from audio forever!" Then again it could be "Magnavox is the only.....
