Ray Garrison
first, to clarify... are you talking about the Epic series CF-4? Big beasties, ported, two woofers top and bottom flanking a horn loaded 2" tweeter? and I think you'll get more responses if you post this in the "Updating Older Speakers" forum. dougdrake
Can you tell us more about your intended use, so replies can be put in context? They are a very nice speaker, so I'm told, but were not as popular in the Klipsch lineup for some reason. I believe Ray had some CF-4s. hammerin
If I had them they would be hooked up to my kenwood L-07m monoblocks at 150w/per channel ,parasound PHP-850 preamp and a denon dvm -3700 cd player. I am just wondering if they would be a good match for all that power?
dougdrake
Claude - All that power won't even make them flinch. You won't use 5% of it most of the time, due to their effiency. I've got 200wpc hooked to my Chorus, and some other loon on this board has something like 600wpc. Nice to know it's there, but you'll seldom need it. Now, as to how they'll SOUND with that gear, I can't guess. Every situation is unique. Maybe some ex/current Epic owners will chime in? rowooo
Hammerin, Don't know anything about the equipment you listed but I can tell you that I love my Epic's. Great imaging and soundstage depth, and are able to take anything you throw at them. I think you'd be impressed with the CF-4's. Use the spikes and toe them in, let us know what you find out...
