glennbarn
I find the pre-out of my AVR 525 to be a bit too weak. I have to set the volume of my sub to at least 55% to get some decent sound. To confirm this, I plug my Promedia 4.1 to the pre-out surround and center channels. I need to have the volume set to about 45% to make it audible. At this volume level it should be uncomfortably too loud already but its not. I even boosted each channel by +10db, but its still unusually low in volume. Is there something wrong with my unit or is there a work around for this ? Any input would be appreciated.
ccsakura
Did you try different source to see is the sound has to be tuned up that high? This is the experience I just had: I have the same source from the same sound card but it's both analog and digital. I use the analog input that my reciever has to turn up to -15db and the digital input(Coaxial) that I can't even turn higher than -20db(yea can't in the night ). Antagon
My AVR520 and RF3IIs run fine, along with my SVS PB2ISD. I usually listen at -12 and my sub is turned up about 50%
dblue
I haven't seen this problem. I have an AVR 525 and I have my SVS 25-31 PCi less than half-way up with the level at -10 on the receiver, and it is LOUD.
