Jonathan
With many new model names each year that are a variation of previous years names, im getting confused. What SW models are there and what RSW models are there? Are they all front firing? Are there good deals to be had on former Reference subs, on ebay? Are they worth having? Thanks jon
Guest BobG
SW is a long since retired line of KLipsch subs. They started at about $500 and went to $1500. RSW subs are currently Klipsch's most expensive and best subs. They go from about $1000 to about $1800. KSW subs were in the $400 to $750 range and have recently been replaced by RW subs which range from about $350 to about $650. You can see all current and most former subs on the product section of the klipsch web site. Check under Classic Products for the discontinued models. TheEAR
"Are they worth having?" I have the RSW10,12 and 15.So the answer would be yes if you like real PUNCH,both the RSW12 and 15 are solid subs. The RSW10 lacks any deep bass but is very clean and punchy, great match for small sats like ProAc Response One,Monitor Audio Gold 20's and Dynaudio Contour 1.1's. The KSW subs are ...boomy,this can be taken care of in most part my careful placement. But lack any real might down low.RW subs are ok,still besides the RW12 the two smaller units lack the juice(IMO). Now if you are ready to pay and step up... SVS PB2-Plus SVS B4-Plus/K2 amp Revel B15 Aerial Acoustics SW12 Velodyne HGS18 II The RSW12 does a great job as a starter sub.And can be purchased at a great price if you look around. Jonathan
Im looking for something to complement some RB-5s or 3s in a small room/ apartment where room shaking unfortunatly can not be a major plus. What about the RW-10? This is a budget plan. Are the RW and RSW lines both currently being offered? Thanks Jon
