cdsang
What I mean is, how do they make the front part so smooth? I am wondering because I wanted to do a DIY project in the future and I wanted to do the same basic thing. If I saw it right, it does use wood. Anyone know? CD ---------------- You mean like the new Reference speakers? aren't the fronts made of plastic? (I don't have one... sorry if i'm way off ) You can make a "molded" look many different ways, from curving/glueing multiple thin plywood sheets to carving MDF (router and belt sander). you have a picture of what you'd like? cdsang
I was looking for something like the front of the Reference speakers. I own quit a fiew of them so I may be able to get a closer look. Well if I am suppose to use plywood sheets, a router and a sander, I may be in business. I know for sure I have a router, but my sander isn't belt driven. Could you help me from there? CD
formica
Do you want the curve to be in one (cylindrical) or two (spherical) dimensions? You can simulate the appearance of a cast plastic (?) piece, but will be much more massive (heavier) as you won't be moulding it per-sae. I may be able to give you some construction ideas if I know exactly what you'd like it to look like. Can you post up a couple of pics?
