croaker32
Hi: I'm trying to hook up my RS-7 surrounds with the "keyhole" mounts. Problem is that I just put banana plugs on the speaker wire to get a nice tight connection, but the bananas stick out so far, I cannot mount the speakers on the wall now. Any ideas? Will there be much difference in sound quality if I don't use bananas, and just "thread" the wire through the hole bare? Thanks for the input. I really appreciate this board. You guys have helped me many times. Mike
T2K
Just thread the bare wire thru the hole in the RS-7 binding post and snug it down. Bananas are generally used for their convienence when say, moving speakers around. No connector is better than any connector. Good luck! SteelerFan
Just be careful when using the bare wire that a loose strand doesn't come in contact with the opposite terminal. You may want to try spades.
toddvj
No connection is going to work. Just use the bare wire.
Jay481985
i believe bananas may increase resistance just a thought
Darren
I had the same issue - bare wire has worked out just fine. As already noted, just be careful not to expose too much wire - you don't want it to touch the other terminal or wire.
