companion
Do any of you know how good the JBL e100 tower speakers are they say that they are the flag ship model of the north ridge series here is a link to take a look at them i heard they are great speakers just need some more professional help http://www.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.asp?ProdId=E100&SerId=NRE&sCatId=
lynnm
The price seems reasonable but before ponying up the $$ listen to other speakers in the same price range. I think you will find that the JBL's are outclassed by Klipch and several others.

Ray Garrison
In that price range (retail $1,000 / pair) there are sooooooooo many speakers, of so many different types, by so many different manufacturers, that asking us for advice is probably not going to be much help. Also, asking for help in this forum would be sort of like asking about which brand of new car to buy at a Ford rally. I'd strongly suggest finding a local dealer who is willing to work with you, or preferably several dealers, and listen to as many different speakers, by as many different manufacturers, as possible. Tell the dealer your price range, but start by listening to the best speakers they sell - even if they are so far outside your price range that there's no way you're ever going to buy them. Find the ones YOU like the absolute bestest. That way, when you listen to speakers you CAN afford, you have a benchmark to compare them to. You'll have a better idea of what trade offs you're making, what you're giving up at the lower price point, and can make a more informed comparison. I'd certainly make sure I listened to the newer B&W mid priced line, Paradigm, NHT, the various Klipsch lines (duh), KEF, Mission, Wharfdale, Sound Dynamics, well, the list goes on...
