flyboymd
I've gotten great advice from this board and currently have added a KV-3 center to my KG 4's and Quintet rear speakers for my HT. It is sounding great after adjusting the output using the Nakamichi amp. So, what sub-woofer is rated to go with KG4's and the KV-3? Take care and Happy New Year to all. dougdrake
How much do you want to spend? How big a room have you got?
gcoker
The subwoofer's that were out when the KG series were being produced were the SW model. SW-8, SW-10 and so on. You can find these on e-bay. The downside to these subs are that when they were produced Dolby Digital and DTS were not in home theaters. I had an SW-8II and it could not handle the LFE from my receiver. No matter the adjustment I could not keep the drivers from bottoming out. My advise is to forget the SW model and audition other subs in the price range you want to spend. Matching the sub to your other speakers is not important as it is with center speakers.
gil28072
I have 2 pair of Kg4's front and back, along with a MB quart CTR center and a Boston acoustic VR2000 12" sub. I'm driving them with my 1982 Sansui 9900z reciever. let me tell you they rock. You would not believe how good my Lp's sound. I think the addition of the sub takes them to a whole different level. They have a really solid bass by themselves but the sub takes them over the top. I will never part with them, I may go with the Khorns one day, but I will always have this setup someplace in the house!
