RS-7 and RC-7 biwireable?

Kim

Recommended Posts

Hi Kim welcome to the wonderful world of Klipsch. From what I heard all the models in the reference and legend line are bi-wire able. I have the RC-3 and RF-3 and they are bi-wire able, so I am sure the RF-7 and RC-7 are also. I havent seen them yet because they are not out yet in my area. I cannot wait to demo them. I would assume standard connectors would work with the RF/C-7.

actually the klf c-7 center & the rs-3 aren't biwirable. don't know why though.

consequently, my guess would be the rc-7 definitely is but the rs-7 probably not (following the past ref scheme).

& the specs under home audio don't say whether they are/aren't.

oh & the 5-way posts i'm sure take standard spades.

after checking my ref series owner's manual, i don't think the rs-3 are bi-wire capable. under speaker wire

connections it states which speakers are, but under rs-3 it does not. unless there's some oversight for rs-3, looks like those & the rs-7 are the only reference that aren't bi-wire capable.

The RC-7 is biwirable as are all the new Reference models EXCEPT the rears. We did not feel many would wish to run double wire to the rear speakers. If our logic is incorrect, please do let us know.

Hey, BobG, our Klipsch collections are an exercise in indulgence. Putting a bi-wire option on the rear speakers is in keeping with our indulgence potential... at what should be a very little extra cost to Klipsch and us. Who knows what whims we may want to impose on what the factory calls "rear speakers?" Not being a "bi-guy wirewise"... my needs are not abridged... only my freedom to indulge in them. And, that, my would be friend, is far more expensive. cwm20.gif HornEd

BobG,

I am planing to upgrade my ss-1 to the reference model. Would the RS-7 be a good match for my RF-3 and RC-3? Should I stick with the RS-3?

Thank you

Ed - got it. While nothing is as inexpensive as you would think, I will pass along your comment re bi-wire surrounds. In fact, those speakers make very nice broad-coverage or fill units. I know of bars where single WDST's are used in place of 3 'normal' dispersion speakers.

Bensilb - the RS-7 would match the RF-3 very nicely as it has very similar drivers. The efficiency is probably higher than you require, but the added deep bass capability is a great addition.
