parametric hardware equalizer for sblive

this may be for windows 2000 only. im not sure.

very nifty... im experimenting with it right now to boost midrange (trying to make it sound closer to my grado headphones).

heres a link to the forum thread where i found it:

http://www.3dsoundsurge.com/ubb/Forum14/HTML/000257.html

it adds a parametric equalizer to the environmental audio section of "audioHQ" control panel. it requires the very latest drivers (5.12.01.3209) you can check your driver version by searching your hard drive for emu10k1f.sys and checking its version (right click that file and go to properties). that thread has links to the newest files that should work with all sblive cards. you have to run the exe file to patch the newest emu10kf1.sys file (then copy over the original in your winnt/system32/drivers folder) basically it has one low control, 2 midrange controls, and one high control. its a bit complex but its easy once you understand how the parametric equalizer works. the thread linked above does a pretty good job explaining how to use each setting. you can select precisely what frequencies of midrange to boost and then select how many decibels to boost it by. no distortion whatsoever because its all done in hardware.
