mozdaman
I own a KLF C-7 to match the KLF 30's that I am running for my mains. I see that there is now a RC-7. I was looking through the specs and noticed that my C-7 has a frequency response of 75HZ-20HZ and the RC-7 has a frequency response of 45HZ-20HZ. Which frequency response is better? Will the RC-7 give me better sound or should I stick with the C-7? Thanks, Mike
lynnm
Stick with the C-7. It is designed specifically to mate with your KLF 30's The lowend cutoff of 75hz is entirely adequate for a centre. Any very low bass is going to be handled by the 30's and given the essentially non-directional character of low bass you will never hear the bass as coming from the 30's instead of the centre. Using a centre speaker that is not timbre matched to your mains and surrounds will skew the sonic image even if the centre in use is of equal or possibly even higher quality than the speaker for which the system was designed.
