jabaker
My Onkyo 701 has the calibration at reference level 82db.The onkyo manual says to use a SPL meter(I bought 1 from Radioshack) to set all speakers to 75db.Can all speakers be safely set to higher levels such as 85db and up.Will this be alright for the speakers and the reciever. Thanks for any feedback! dougdrake
If your receiver has the power, going to higher volumes will not cause a problem. Heck, most Klipsch speakers aren't even at their average sensititivy until you get to the high 90's db.
BackBurner
As long as every channel is balanced and your not clipping, " hey " pour the juice to them !!! Nothing in the audio world is written in stone , so best thing is a little experimenting.
