Bartdude
I have a Pioneer elite 45a dvd player and being my first pro-scan player I was wondering why certain dvds will output in pro-scan and others wont. The player is set up for progressive out but doesnt always output that way. Is this common?
device manager
If your player is set for progressive then it should remain that way until you switch it to interlaced. Check the user manual for confirmation.
damonrpayne
DVD is natively encoded in 480p, there should not be a disc that won't output a progressive signal. Anyone have DVD faq links to verify this?
BBB
If you have the Pioneer set to progressive and have the DVD player turned on and go to the input you assigned it to on your Mits TV it should say 480p in the corner of the screen when you push the info button on your TVs remote EVEN if you dont have a DVD in the player. If it does that, then tell us what DVDs are showing 480i when you push the Mits info button after you loaded them into the player.

Bartdude
I found it (read the manual I did!) It was set to auto detect progressive where if the disk only has 4:3 ratio, then it defaults to 480i. I have turned that function off and will check out when I get home tonite and can test. Thanks guys anyways!
