RIGGED25 Posted February 17, 2004 Share Posted February 17, 2004 I own a M&K Mark 75 II subwoofer which makes an aweful thumping noise when powered on or off. I've read the manual and it recommends that I leave it plugged in 24hrs a day. The thing is, I only use my sub for movies, which only happens once or twice a month. lynnm Posted February 17, 2004 Share Posted February 17, 2004 The amp in that sub will be a solid state design and will draw very little power ( damned near none) at idle. It only gets to sucking juice when actually in use. I would follow the manufacturer's recommendation if it is performing well otherwise. The cost of running at idle will be neglible.
