analogman
Gentlemen, I am currently using the "Audio Outs L-R" on an old 1992 RCA television and running them into my tube integrated amp.The amp's input impedance is 25,000Ohms.When doing this I switch OFF the television's speakers.I can still change volume using the set's remote.I do not have a schematic and do not know how the set's audio circuit is configured.Does this pose any threat of overloading or damaging my integrated's input or pre-amp stage? How could I determine if these "outs" are truely line level or just speaker level terminated with RCAs (phono plugs)?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank You! easylistener
It should be to much of a problem as long as you don't turn the tv up to loud. I would rather have the amp turned up more and the tv lower.
avman
the problem w/NOT turning up the output of the tv and turning up the preamp is a high level of noise. i'm 99% sure those are true line level outputs, but they are VARIABLE line outs. you may be able to 'fix' the output to a set level. avman.
