atom
some Cav50 in audiogon looks great. but also cann't forget the magic of SET. and i can find a bargain on a jolida 300B. unfortuntely, i don't have chance to listen to either one. the only tube experience is jolida 202. it is not super, but very musical. also found fatty on bottom. i was told that almost all el34 has problem on bottom. how do u guys think? most listen to jazz, vocal, and some classic, pop. 12*18 room. MBM135
I had a Jolida 202 and thought it lacked a bit in the base dept. I switched to a rebuilt Scott 299A and found happiness there. My 299 has a couple quirks but the sound quality is better--especially with the bass, which I like. MM

sunnysal
cav 50 should be a nice sounding PP amp. the 300B SET may not have enough guts for the speakers, depending on room and lisening preferences. what size room? what kind of music? at what volume? regards, tony
