formica
Ok... just thought Id post a link to my new how-to page I set up. For those who dont already know, Im using a DIY Stryke AV15 subwoofer powered by a Pro JBL MPC200 amplifier. As most pro amps, it has a fan which is audible when the music is very low or when music/movie has large volume variations. Following posts on www.harmonicdiscord.com forums about upgrading the factory high-velocity fans in QSC amplifiers with silent units, I decided to try the same with my amplifier. You can check it out at: Step-by-Step QSC (JBL) Pro amplifier Quiet Fan Upgrade For reference, my amp is actually identical to the QSC CX4 which has a continuously variable fan to keep it cool. According to QSC it should be similar to PLX series amp, while the RMX amps are slightly noisier since they use only two speed fans. Hoping itll help someone else considering the upgrade... Later...
