fini
Can the condition of a stylus be accurately determined by visual inspection with a 10X lupe, or would you need a more powerful microscope? It's hard to believe this Shure cartridge survived the dogpile I subjected it to. I looked at the stylus with the lupe, then gently dabbed off some crud with a small foam-tipped "Q-tip" dealie, saturated with pure water. Looks fine to me... doctorcilantro
If it looks okay, I 'd say next step is to test the suspension by lowering it to a record. Is this an expensive cart? I know some have a hollow cantilever and liquid cleaning must be done a very small/careful amounts so as not to draw any up the cant/ DC
