i remember reading somewhere that the 5.1 systems sub works by seperating one of the subs to the front channels and the other to the rear channels. appearenlty this "improved" low end accuracy.

i was just wondering if this is also present in the 4.1's. if so, what happens if you only have a 2 channel output, will that mean only 1 sub is working?

I'm not sure where you read that, but it seems rather unlikely considering the subs are wired in series. They pretty much have to be doing the same thing.

They should really finish off the inside of the box. It looks bad and probably doesn't help air flow in there.

lol. Nice thought, but I doubt it's high on their list of priorities. If it bothers you, chances are you have the sub pulled apart too often.

Finishing inside of sub would be purely cosmetic. Finished or unfinished does not affect airflow at all. I'll tell you what finishing the inside will affect though: PRICE. Cuz we'd all like to pay more for something we don't see or hear.
