tigger1874
HI EVERYONE, LOOKING FOR SOME ADVICE..I HAVE DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE FOLLOWING KLIPSCH SPEAKERS: RB-35 (FRONTS) RC-35 (CENTER) RS-35 (SURROUNDS) Still undecided on the sub. I have narrowed my reciever choices down to a couple and was wondering if someone could shed light into these particular models....my preference is for the surround system...but I will be listening to alot of classic rock...I am not as big on bass as I am for clarity of accoustic guitars etc....I want to get the best performance from these speakers keeping the clarity factor in mind...........these are my choices: Onkyo nr-701 Marantz sr-7400 denon-avr-3803 Of note...I would not like to exceed the $1000.00 canadian limit or about $775 US....thx I hope someone can shed some insight....... michael hurd
If you can get the Denon 3803 or the Marantz 7400 for under a grand canadian, then either one would get my vote. I like the simplicity of my Marantz, and also the price.
minn_male42
the marantz receivers have a problem.... if you do a search over on the avs forum you will find many marantz owners upset because their receivers cut-out occassionally when reading a digital signal..... of the other two... the denon is a much better match with klipsch speakers... IMHO....
michael hurd
Do a search on this board and you will find that frznivt had problems with his denon, a few people had trouble with harmon kardon, and so on... This does not mean all are bad. A lot of people post only when they have problems, and not to praise equipment. How many people come to this bb to rant and rave? Quite a few. SteelerFan
All I can offer is what I've read which is Marantz is known for having a warm sound which many feel works well with Klipsch.
speed3
I'll add that I enjoy my Onkyo TXSR 700. For stereo listening, I use the Pure Audio mode when I'm too lazy to set up the tubes. It works pretty well, but the bass is slightly weak if anything. Of course, this unit costs considerably less than what I could get the SR 7400 or 3805.
