coronaspect
Looking for advice from anyone with experience in shielding Heresys, or LS's, for use near a TV or as a center Channel? I would like to hear from everyone out there how they use LS's or heresys for center channels, how you have them arranged. Just want to get an idea of some of the Heritage HT setups out there. Pics would be great also!
Malcolm
Heresy with alnico woofer may work for you as a center. I have a TV sitting directly on top of one on its side. The alnico magnet circuits used in the Heresy have a smaller stray magnetic field to influence the deflection coil field in the TV.
Dave in Nashville
Greg, The solution to your problem is pretty simple. Contact the good people at Klipsch and order a "bucking magnet" for the woofer in your Heresy speaker. Once you have the magnet (it will look like a huge flattened donut), remove the back from your speaker enclosure and epoxy the magnet to the back of the magnet on the woofer. Make sure that the magnets are clean and that they repel one another. You'll probably have to use some "C" clamps to hold the magnet in place while the epoxy cures. The next day, re-attach the back, hook up the wires, and put the speaker as close to the TV as you want. You won't have any more problems with the magnet's field and the speaker output will be unaffected.
