Grateful11
Has anyone tried this it looks interesting? Is it just a customization of Linux/Unix? I noticed it uses Mozilla browser which is great. http://wwws.sun.com/software/javadesktopsystem/ Here's a system that comes loaded with it. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2592735&cat=3951&type=19&dept=3944&path=0%3A3944%3A3951%3A41937%3A86796%3A132690 Grateful
skeptic
Its based on the SUSE linux distro (version 8.1) using the 2.4 kernel. I have seen one computer running it (after 2 computers refused to install it..) basically, stick to a Linux distro you like if you like Linux, stick to windows 2000 if you like windows, cause Java Desktop OS is ok if you can get it installed, but offers nothing new. Mac OS X is still the leader of the pack for unix based GUI driven OS. (yikes, did I just expose myself as a Mac zealot, rendering all of my other opinions invalid....? )
