e34rob
My current system consists of the following: YAMAHA DSP-A1000 (7 channel prologic, NOT DD or DTS) KG 5.5 Mains KV 2 Center SS 1 Surround YAMAHA YST SW-150 Sub My question is, what are the reccommendations for a new A/V Reciever? I have really liked the YAMAHA/KLIPSCH combination, but I am willing to try another brand. I am trying to keep the cost down since I now have children. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance. RWMIN
Denon, Marantz and Yamaha seem to be the favorites. I would LOVE to have a Denon 5800 myself or maybe even the 4800.
HornEd
If you want a receiver and like the Yamaha/Klipsch sound (as I do), stretch a little for a Yamaha RX-V3000... it is no longer the top of the line and can often be found for a real deal... at least in comparison to the $2k sticker price. Personally, I have auditioned the Yamaha RX-V1 and Denon 5800 and, all things considered, liked what I was getting from a properly set up V3000 better! Try to get an audition in your own home if you can. I was willing to post the purchase price in cash as a good faith deposit on returning their store demo in 48 hours... and that's what worked for me. Enjoy the journey... the destination lasts forever. HornEd ------------------ "Where Legends Live!
