rdfish1
I give up on trying to download the freebies. Can you recommend a good quality test tone cd for my svs 20-39? I need to work on getting this thing tuned better and want to buy a disk. Also, where is a good place to buy one?
Colin
there are others of course, but here is my take on the classic benchmark Test CDs: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/music/0704/stereophile.htm Test CDs! colterphoto1
I have a Stereophile test CD STPH002-2 1990, which contains 11 tracks with 'warble' tones in each of 1/3 octave bands from 200 Hz down to 20 Hz. In conjunction with a ratshack SPL meter, seems to do a decent job of finding offending frequencies. The other tracks are very carefully recorded musical tidbits that are handy for tracking down other system problems. I'd recommend it highly. po box 5529 Sante Fe. gcoker
I bought Digital Video Essentials from Amason for 20.00. It has every test tone you can ever need along with video test for your display.

It has some nice sweeps though, both low frequency (buzz & rattle test) and high frequency stuff. I got my DVE at DeepDiscountDVD.com; they always have great prices, and no shipping. D-MAN
PartsExpress has the "BASS MECHANIC" series of cds for testing out auto installations. That stuff will shake out any subwoofer... DM
