adamlee2001GXE
Ok guys, I have been relatively satisfied with the performance of my ancient promedia speakers for my computer. I have always wanted to get a home theater system, and might be getting one. Ultimate Electronics is offering a package: Denon 1705, RW 10, (2) RF 15, (2) RS 25 and 1 RC 25 for $1700. I have been very satisfied with the performance of the sub for the promedia. I was wondering how the promedia sub compared to the RW 10? Some initial differences I notice are in the wattages. Promedia offers 160 whereas RW offers 200. Promedia has 2 sidefiring 6.5's whereas RW has 1 front firing 10. I was thinking about the RW 12, but I think that is going to be out of my price range. Thanks in advance.
cdsang
Sounds like a decent deal to me. The RW-10 would sound better and louder then any Pro-media woofer. I would think it would play lower as well. The RW-12 is louder then the RSW-10 but the RSW-10 sounds better because its a higher class. I heard the RW-12 with RF-7s and they will keep up, well for the most part but would recommend something higher for RF-7. The RF-15 would make make a large improvement as well and the RW-10 and RW-12 would be fine with it I think. I think the 12 would be better for many reasons. Its louder, goes lower, and if your upgrade your mains, chances are, you won't have to upgrade your sub. My 2 cents of advice, buy what you want now, or you'll end up saveing and buying it later, spending more money then you wanted to. Good luck finding what you want. InnovaZero
The only Promedia sub that compares fav. to decent quality budget subs is the Ultra subwoofer, its frequency response/SPL is very similar to the RW-10. OF course, the RW-10 sounds better though. (Obviously)
