dcelov
I'm currently running KLF-20s in the front, a KLF C-7 center and RS-3 surrounds. I'm toying with the idea of picking up a set of KLF-10s to replace the reference series surrounds that I cuurently use. Besides the benefit of matching all speakers to the same series, what are the opinions out there regarding: 1) Would there be any negative issues with the fact that surround speakers are built to perform that function and that using larger speakers in that role would be less effective for 5.1 situations? 2) I like to use 5 channel stereo when listening to music cds. Would the KLF-10s be a noticeable improvement over the smaller surrounds for that purpose? 3) Any other potential problems that I haven't listed? Thanks in advance for any help. I'll hang up and listen for any answers. Dave
speed3
If you can find a set of klf 10's I'd recemmend you do it. There is a lot of debate on which works better, bipole/dipole or direct radiating. It's up to you wha twill work better. THe Legends never had a true matching surround speaker. Klipsch marketed the KSP S6 as the surround speaker of choice, but they were designed around the Synergy Premiere line, not the Legend line. I have 10's up front right now, but I plan to move them to surround duty when I have the opportunity to purchase a set of 20's or 30's to put up front. dcelov
Can anyone else comment on using floor standing speakers as surrounds?
Mlstrass
I've got 10's & 20's for side surrounds and am VERY happy with the way they sound for movies, and PLENTY of punch for 7 channel stereo. Sounds like a club when I want it to....... Not familiar with the RS-3's, so I can't tell you how the 10's compare to them, but the 10's are a very good speaker. I have a set in the garage and all my neighbors are envious of my garage system!!
dcelov
After doing my research, I decided to go with another pair of RS-3s as my rear surrounds to keep a matching set. This weekend I'll run 12 gauge wire to the new rears and test drive 7 channel for the first time! Dave
